About

I need to lose weight. When this site was started I weighed 110 kg (243 lbs), which puts me into the Obese category for my 183 cm (6 ft) height.

I’m also incredibly unfit, working in a desk job and leading a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I lose my breath climbing a few flights of stairs, and break into a sweat at the smallest exertion.

My goals, for now, are to get my weight down to 80 kg and to be able to run 5 km (3 miles) comfortably.

I created Time-To-Get-Fit.com to track my progress towards those goals, mostly for my own interest and motivation, but also because I thought some parts of it may help others to achieve their weight loss goals.

I’m a 33-year-old father of three daughters, G (aged 4), S (aged 2) and H (aged 1). My eldest daughter has Down syndrome. As the girls get older, I want to be able to run around with them and keep up with their activities. I intend to encourage them to lead healthy and active lives, and the best way to do that is to lead by example.

And of course, I want to still be around when my children reach adulthood, rather than dead from a heart attack.
