Thanks, Matt! I got curious about what your exercise bike looked like, and found one here. That looks very cool. Now I just have to find something like that here in Australia.

I see from your blog that you're taking on a sprint iron-man race. Great stuff! I was hoping to tackle a 5km fun-run sometime soon, but we're going into winter now and there won't be any near me for many months. Oh well, if I can keep the exercise up I should have no trouble running 5km by Spring!

I love my stationary recumbent exercise bike. I bought a mid-range (price wise) Champion C32S. It cost me about $369 US, but it was much sturdier than the cheaper models.

When I bought mine I stilled weighed around 270 pounds and the cheaper models didn't feel like they would last.

It is very quiet. I usually exercise in the morning while my wife and kids sleep too. I usually listen to my iPod while I exercise and I never have trouble waking them up.

I also love elliptical trainers. But a quality elliptical trainer is much more expensive than a quality exercise bike.

If you have an indoor pool nearby then you could start swimming. But that would take a bit more effort than just getting up and jumping on an exercise bike or some other piece of equipment.

Anyway, good luck and keep up the great work.
